Indian-origin Sikh entrepreneur gunned down outside office in Canada

Harjeet Singh Dhadda, a 51-year-old Sikh entrepreneur originally from Bazpur, Uttarakhand, was tragically shot and killed outside his office in Mississauga, Ontario, on Wednesday, according to reports.

The incident reportedly occurred around 11.53 am near Tranmere Drive and Telford Way. Emergency responders found Dhadda with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dhadda, who had built a successful trucking safety and insurance consultancy over 15 years, had reportedly received threatening calls demanding $5,00,000 in extortion money. His daughter, Gurleen Dhadda, reportedly stated that he refused to comply with these demands, asserting his commitment to hard work and integrity.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the murder, alleging that Dhadda was targeted for allegedly providing a bail bond for Arsh Dalla, the chief of the pro-Khalistan separatist group, Khalistan Tiger Force.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants fired approximately 15-16 rounds before fleeing the scene. Peel Regional Police have launched a homicide investigation and are reviewing security footage to identify the suspects.

Dhadda was a respected member of the Canadian Sikh Gurdwara Committee and a prominent figure in the Punjabi community. His death has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting calls for justice and increased protection for business owners facing similar threats.
