A 73-year-old Indian-origin man was charged in a court in Singapore for allegedly molesting four different women on a flight from USA to Singapore, according to local media.
The man, travelling from Singapore Airlines on November 18, was identified as Balasubramaniam Ramesh, stated the reports.
The media, however, did not disclose if the victims were passengers onboard or the cabin crew. The accused was reportedly charged with molesting three women and ‘outraging the modesty’ of the fourth one.
The accused is likely to plead guilty in the next hearing, stated media. He can be subjected to a three-year sentence or fine for each count of molestation, and can also be subjected to a combination of punishments.
Earlier this year, another Indian national, who was in Singapore on a student pass, was sentenced to four years in jail and six strokes of the cane for molesting a British woman at a nightclub in 2022, according to a media report.
Erugula Eswara Reddy, 25, pleaded guilty to a molestation charge and was arrested shortly after the incident on Aug 20, 2022, a newspaper reported on Jan 19.
