Detective Chief Inspector Richard Sidney, the senior investigating officer, said the victims had been targeted because of their vulnerabilities.
"They were children, aged just 14 to 16, when they were subjected to exploitation and abuse by adults who took advantage of their vulnerabilities and sought to manipulate and control them for their own gain," he said.
He added that the impact of child sexual exploitation could be "profound and long lasting" and described the verdicts as an important step towards justice.
Trial Heard Evidence Of Multiple Serious Offences
The court heard that the offences took place in vehicles, residential properties and business premises across Denbighshire in Wales.
Evidence presented during the trial included allegations of rape, sexual assault, child sexual exploitation, modern slavery offences, drug supply and attempts to obstruct justice.
The case formed part of two linked North Wales Police investigations—Operation Embank and Operation Zirconium—which targeted organised child sexual exploitation and human trafficking networks.
Five Accused Found Guilty
Alongside Jaswinder Singh, the other convicted individuals were Mustafa Iqbal, Mohamed Usman Arshad, Ziaullah Badshah and Sarah Gray.
The accused, including men of Pakistani heritage, denied the charges throughout the proceedings. However, the jury unanimously found all five guilty of more than 40 offences.
DCI Sidney said the defendants had forced the victims to relive their experiences during the lengthy court proceedings instead of accepting responsibility for their actions.
Sentencing Scheduled For September
Singh, Iqbal, Arshad and Badshah have been remanded in judicial custody pending sentencing.
Sarah Gray has been granted bail.
All five are due to be sentenced at Caernarfon Crown Court on September 25.
