Indian-origin doctor charged with child sexual abuse, filming women in US

A 40-year-old Indian doctor Oumair Aejaz, has been charged with child sexual abuse, and filming children and adults including women and children in Michigan, US.

The Oakland County Sheriff, Michael Bouchard dubbed the doctor as, “One of the most disgusting, potentially prolific and disturbing sexual predators.”

Sheriff said that thousands of videos were found at the doctor’s house. Police found 13,000 videos on a single hard drive, which will take months to investigate.

After issuing a warrant against Aejaz on Aug 8, six computers, four mobile phones, and 15 external devices.

On Aug. 13, Aejaz was in 52-3 District Court in Rochester Hills. He is charged with 10 counts:

  • One count of child sexually abusive activity.
  • One count of using a computer to create and or reproduce child sexually abusive material.
  • Two counts of capturing/recording children under the age of 18 while nude.
  • Two counts of capturing/recording two women over the age of 18 while nude.
  • Four counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

He also allegedly filmed children and mothers in the changing room of Goldfish Swimming Club in 2023.

According to Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald, “From a 2-year-old boy to grown women, no one is immune from his disgusting predatory behaviour.”

“Violating children in safe spaces as they change for a fun swim or sexually violating women who are still under sedation from a medical procedure shows his depravity has no limits,” she added.

Who is Dr Oumair Aejaz?

Aejaz is a citizen of India who has been working in the US on a visa. He came to this country around 2011, completed his residency at Detroit Sinai Grace Hospital and then moved to Dawson. He returned to Oakland County to continue his practice in internal medicine in 2018.
