Indian origin couple brutally assaulted hotel manager during honeymoon in Switzerland

An Indian-origin couple from Canada, on their long-anticipated honeymoon in Switzerland, have alleged that a Chinese hotel manager violently assaulted them in a racially motivated attack. The incident was recounted by the couple, Nikita and Karan, in an Instagram post.

On June 24, the couple checked into Seehotel Schwert in Gersau, a lakeside property leased and run by a family of Chinese origin. They claim that what began as a series of hostile interactions soon escalated into physical violence, leaving Nikita with severe injuries.

“While other guests were welcomed warmly, Nikita and Karan were met with coldness and hostility,” the couple wrote in a collaborative Instagram post with a content creator.

As per the post, when they politely raised a concern one night about a room fan that had been taken away by hotel staff without notice, they were met not with help, but with arrogance, threats, and verbal abuse — late at night, with no other place to go.

Despite the unprovoked aggression shown by the hotel manager, the couple remained calm, trying to de-escalate and even translating their request into German since the manager refused to speak English.

According to the couple, while they gently tried to explain the previous night’s incident to a different hotel employee, they were once again met with dismissiveness and disrespect.

Seeing this, the same hotel manager who had caused the previous night’s altercation aggressively approached the couple, shouting and then physically attacking both Karan and Nikita.

He punched, kicked, and hit them on the face, abdomen, back, and legs.

And in a cowardly, violent act, he threw a hard metal object at Nikita’s face.

Nikita’s face was severely injured, and the impact was so severe that one of her teeth was knocked out completely from the root, and another 12 were fractured.

The couple’s honeymoon trip turned into a nightmare, leaving both suffering a severe post-traumatic stress disorder. They are also on heavy medications, while Nikita is undergoing multiple dental surgeries.

“Her face has changed. Her confidence is shattered. She avoids mirrors. I don’t feel like myself anymore,” the post read.

Moreover,  the hotel manager later filed a counter-complaint against Karan, a move that Ashish sees as an attempt to stall justice for the couple.

According to the couple, there has been no clear action from authorities, leaving them uncertain whether the manager has even been questioned.
