Indian manager in US shares emotional post, ‘people think we brought caste system here’

An Indian tech manager working in the United States has gone viral after posting a long emotional rant on the anonymous workplace platform called Blind. They expressed how he feels unfairly targeted and stereotyped simply because of his nationality.
The manager, who claims that they moved to the US on an H1B visa and rose from level L5 to L7, felt that they have always treated colleagues fairly and hired purely on merit.
However, they are now ‘disturbed by rising anti-Indian sentiment within the tech community’.
“I’m an Indian manager and I feel hated for things I didn’t do,” he wrote.
The anonymous user said people online accuse Indians in tech of hiring only their own communities or 'importing caste hierarchies’ into Silicon Valley.
“It breaks me because I’ve spent my whole career trying to do the opposite,” they wrote, adding that despite living in the US for years, the social circle still largely remains Indian something that now makes them question if they should have done that..
“I don’t know when being Indian in tech turned into something people resent,” they added.
The post triggered a debate in the comments.
One user responded sharply, “OP, if you moved to the US to belong, then why are you only friends with other Indians? You say you’re fair but your own words show your bias.”
Another user then defended them saying, “What’s wrong in that? How many Indian friends do you have? As adults we gravitate toward people who understand us and our culture and don’t hate us because of our skin color.”
To which another replied, “I work in tech so obviously I have Indian friends. About 40% of my close circle is Indian. But there are Indians who actually integrate here and make diverse friends. You and OP are just racists who hate your hosts. That’s why we want you out.”
