Indian man shot dead in US for trying to stop another man from urinating in public

A 25-year-old Indian man from Punjab was shot dead in the United States after he tried to stop another man from urinating in public on Saturday.

Kapil, who had come to the US illegally via the ‘dunki’ route in 2022 by paying ₹45 lakh, was working at a store in California’s Los Angeles. He was shot dead by a man, whom he reproached for urinating on the roadside near the store where he was working on Saturday evening, according to reports.

As per reports, witnesses promptly informed the police about the shooting. Kapil was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.

Kapil was born on May 22, 2000, and belonged to a farming family in Jind. His family is struggling to repatriate his body to India.
