Indian man pushed, booed while speaking at anti-immigration protest in Australia
Indian heckled in Australia's anti immigrant protest

An Indian man, who is an Australian citizen, was booed and pushed off the stage while speaking in support of protestors at an anti-immigrant rally in Australia.

In the viral video, it can be seen that an Australian man invites the Indian man wearing a yellow jersey with ‘Australia’ imprinted on it and says, “Our next guest is a foreigner. He looks like a foreigner. And he said he wanted to speak,” the host says as the crowd of Protestors rippled into booing. He adds, “He’s just like me; he became a citizen.”

Amid the continuous booing from the crowd, the Indian man said, “Yes, I am a brown man. Yes, I am an immigrant from India. I came here for the right reasons. Immigration is about not taking but giving. Not demanding but respecting. But what I see happening today is not immigration. This is an open-door policy. Anyone can come in, claim a spot, and demand that Australia change for them. They are not blending into our culture; they are not protecting our freedom. They are twisting it."

Before he completes his address, suddenly, an Australian protestor pushes him and heckles him, grabbing the microphone.

The people present on the stage managed to take down the protestor, where the video abruptly ends.

The video garnered many views and comments, with a user writing, “Why did they let that Indian talk?” “That’s the type of behaviour that ruins the chances of the government taking you seriously. It’s childish. Stand with the people that support your cause.”

One user also commented, “As an Aussie, I am not against immigration, I am against allowing refugees to come here illegally and completely disregarding our laws and culture. If you come to Aus, you gotta follow our rules.”

Some of the comments also contained racial slurs for Indians.
