Indian man arrested in UK over alleged online grooming of underage girls

An Indian man has been arrested in the city of Coventry in the United Kingdom over allegations of online grooming involving underage girls, according to a viral video. 

The video of his arrest, which took place on Tuesday, is being widely shared online. 

According to a post on X, the man, claimed to be Gureet Jeetesh, arrived in Britain around three months ago and has been living in student accommodation. The post claimed that Jeetesh was confronted before being arrested for allegedly grooming multiple underage girls online and arranging to meet them.

It further alleged that he had been in the country for 12 weeks and was evicted from his accommodation following the incident.

In the video shared online, Jeetesh is seen repeatedly apologising after being confronted by a man and a woman, who are heard reprimanding him and informing him that he has been ‘evicted’. During the exchange, it is alleged that Jeetesh was caught communicating with a police officer who was posing as a 14-year-old girl.

“I’m sorry, please. Just give me a warning, please,” Jeetesh is heard saying in the footage. He is told there would be no warning, as police officers were already present. He is also questioned about the duration of his visa, to which he replies that it is valid until next December, when his course is due to end. He is then told that the duration has been reduced to four months.

He is Jeetesh, an Indian citizen.

He went to England to study on a student visa.

He used to live in Red Lane, Coventry, but he began using social media for all the wrong reasons.

UK authorities have not issued any official statement confirming the details of the arrest or the allegations described on social media.
