A post on X (formerly twitter) discussing the behavior of Indians in public spaces abroad has gone viral. Shared by user Gokul (@gokulns), the post shows his experience on a train journey from Lapland to Helsinki, Finland.

According to Gokul, the train was very quiet until a family became loud while speaking in Hindi and leaving their cabin doors open. Gokul expressed his frustration, suggesting that Indians often lack civic sense. The post has sparked a variety of reactions from social media users.

In a follow-up tweet, Gokul added, “Six hours after the train ride, the same family was sitting behind me in the restaurant. Same video call, no headphones... Good lord. XD”

Some users responded with empathy, saying, “They’re probably tourists, excited, and calling home to share their experience. The best approach is to politely tell them.”

Others agreed with Gokul, noting, “Spot on. Some Indians blend into the environment, while others don’t seem to care.”

Some users raised the question of whether Gokul had an issue with the Hindi language or the noise.

One user also commented, “This is a common issue across Europe. It's not just Indians, but also South Asians and Africans. Civic sense isn’t taught in schools, and it’s evident.”
