Month-long festivities commence
As per the organisers, thousands of Hindus will gather in Washington DC, to celebrate the Ram temple’s inauguration.
The celebrations would see bits like ‘Ram Leela’ (enactment of the Ramayana epic), narrations of the deity, and hymns. The celebrations would also include a 45-minute play performed by children in a language comprehensible to American-born children.
Several other members recited and sung hymns in Kannada and Telugu, among others.
The organisers added, “Hindus will always remember the historic inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Lord Rama’s stories give inspiration to the Hindu-Americans to be an ideal citizen.”
