Gujarati woman shot-dead in US during suspected robbery

An incident reported from the US where an Indian origin woman was shot-dead allegedly by an unidentified man who opened fire on her inside a shop. After the incident, CCTV footage surfaced and the incident is suspected to be linked to robbery.

The victim has been identified as Mehgna Patel, who belongs to Gujarat’s Jantral village in Vijapur region of Mehsana district. She has reportedly been living in the US’s Virginia city for 10 years with her husband,  daughter, and a son.

After the incident was reported, the local police reached the spot and started the investigation. Later, the police surfaced the CCTV footage of the store in which the whole incident was recorded, the reports cited.

The footage shows that an unidentified man wearing a track suit, gloves, jacket, and covering his face with a mask, entered the store, and posed as a customer.

He takes his gun out and fired a shot towards Meghana

Officials suspected the firing may have been carried out with intention of robbery.
