A youth from Nadiad living in the USA was shot outside his residence on the night of Nov 3 by yet unknown perpetrators. 

Reports suggest that the attack was done with the intent of robbery. Ujas Mengar, the victim, was later shifted to a hospital where his condition is believed to be critical.

The family hails from Nadiad

According to reports, Ujas Megnar belongs to the Mengar family from Nadiad. His parents have also settled in North America. 

On the night of the incident, Ujas was returning home after closing his store in the Greensboro city of North Carolina state in his car, and was attacked right outside his home.

According to reports, Ujas was followed to his home by the perpetrators after he had stopped on his way home at a different store.

Ujas resisted the loot attempt, and the perpetrators fired three rounds at Ujas, injuring him seriously. Having shot the victim, the miscreants fled the scene.

Ujas was shifted to the hospital by his family with the help of good samaritans who came to help Ujas after the incident.

In critical condition with three bullet wounds

Ujas’s condition is believed to be critical with three bullet wounds to his stomach. Two bullets were extracted by the doctors, but one still remains in his body.
