A Reddit user, u/w_titan, shared a post on the r/USCIS community claiming that they had received a suspicious appointment letter that appeared to be from US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
A reddit user’s post about suspicious US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) letter sparked online confusion.
The user, going by the handle ‘u/w_titan’, wrote, “Hello! I just received this letter by mail. It looks, feels, and seems very fake as it looks nothing like the other USCIS letters I have received. My online USCIS account does not have this letter. My case status, interviewed May 20, 2025. RFE for lack of polio vaccine. RFE received and processed by USCIS May 26, 2025."
The letter was in reference to an Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.
Seeking help, the user asked the community if the letter was legitimate and whom they could contact for confirmation.
Community members responded with mixed reactions. One user noted, “It doesn’t have the usual letterhead or formatting used by USCIS, so I get why you’re confused. The address is a legit place though. I would honestly call USCIS or the center to confirm.”
Later, u/w_titan provided an update, saying the letter had arrived in a USCIS envelope but, after contacting USCIS customer support, there was no record of an appointment being scheduled.
Other Redditors advised the user to check their USCIS online account, stressing that any legitimate appointment notice would also appear there.
For now, the authenticity of the letter remains unconfirmed. Despite the doubts, the user said they plan to attend the appointment, reportedly scheduled for September, to verify the situation.
