Worli hit-and-run: Woman dies, BMW driver son of Shiv Sena leader
Another speeding luxurious car took the life of a woman in Maharashtra. In Mumbai’s Worli a BMW car rammed into a scooter and dragged the woman to some distance, killing her in the process today.
The car driver, Mihir Shah, fled the scene, prompting the police to register a complaint and initiate an investigation. During the investigation, it was revealed that the young man driving the BMW was the son of a Shiv Sena (Shinde) party leader.
However, due to the registration of the car reportedly in the name of Rajesh Shah, his father, action was taken against him.
On the two-wheeler, while the husband managed to jump off the scooter, victim Kaveri Nakhwa was dragged for 100 metres after the impact and succumbed to her injuries.
As per the video shared by Mumbai Congress on X, the husband of the victim told the media, “The leader’s 24-year-old son was driving the car and he didn’t even stop the car after hitting, they’re big people, no one will do anything.”
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, reacting to the incident, stated that everyone is equal before the law. Action will be taken against the accused as per the law, and no one will be spared.
Recently, Maharashtra’s Pune reported a similar hit-and-run case where a couple lost their lives, having been hit by a Porsche driven by a minor.
