‘Will end US’ existence from Gulf’, warns Iranian Minister on India visit

Amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Dr Saeed Khatibzadeh is currently in India. Speaking at the Raisina Dialogue 2026 in New Delhi, Khatibzadeh made strong remarks about the ongoing war and Iran’s stance against the United States and Israel.
During his address, he highlighted the historical ties between India and Iran, saying that the roots of civilisation in both countries are deeply intertwined. He also stressed that Iran places great importance on maintaining strong relations with India.
However, speaking about the ongoing conflict, Khatibzadeh said the United States has decided to end Iran’s existence, leaving Iran with no choice but to resist.
Describing the seriousness of the situation, Khatibzadeh said that Iranian citizens are facing continuous attacks. “As we speak, my countrymen are under constant bombing by the United States and Israel. Tehran is being attacked repeatedly,” he said.
He described the conflict as a ‘heroic and nationalist war’ for Iran and asserted that the country would fight until the last bullet and the last soldier to counter American and Israeli atrocities. According to him, pushing back the attackers is Iran’s top priority at the moment.
The Iranian minister accused the United States and Israel of violating international law and claimed that Iran had not provoked the attacks. He also alleged that Israel has long pursued the idea of a ‘Greater Israel’, which he said is driving its military actions in the region.
Khatibzadeh further warned that Iran would target all bases from which the United States is launching attacks. He added that Iran now sees no option but to remove the American presence from the Persian Gulf region.
