Wife Kills Man, Buries Him Under Bathroom Floor in Agra

A woman has reportedly been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra for allegedly killing her husband and burying his body beneath the bathroom floor of their home. Investigators are also examining whether anyone else helped her commit the crime and conceal the body.

The victim, identified as Surendra Sharma, had been missing for nearly 45 days, as per reports. Acting on fresh leads, police removed a layer of plaster from the bathroom floor, dug the area and reportedly recovered his body.

Missing Complaint Filed in May

The incident came to light in Agra’s Sikandra area. According to reports, Surendra lived with his wife, Ruby, and their two daughters in Dahatora locality. A missing person’s complaint was registered at the Sikandra police station on May 26 after he could not be traced.

Sleeping Pills

Police said the couple had been married for around 16 years.

Investigators have alleged that on the day of the incident, Ruby sent the couple’s two daughters to Surendra’s elder brother’s house before serving her husband kheer allegedly mixed with sleeping pills.

After Surendra became unconscious, she allegedly strangled him to death.

Body Allegedly Buried Under Bathroom Floor

According to investigators, the following morning Ruby allegedly dug a pit inside the bathroom, buried the body and covered the spot with cement in an attempt to hide the crime.

Police said the motive behind the alleged murder has not yet been established.

Suspicion Grew During Search

Investigators have also alleged that Ruby tried to avoid suspicion by actively participating in the search for her missing husband.

Police said she allegedly told neighbours she was devastated by his disappearance and was often seen crying. However, family members reportedly noticed inconsistencies in her statements, prompting them to press for a more detailed investigation.

The probe took a crucial turn after Surendra’s brother raised doubts about her version of events, as per reports.

Police Examining Possible Role of Others

According to reports, Ruby later allegedly confessed to killing her husband and revealed where the body had been buried inside the house.

The body has been sent for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Police are now investigating whether anyone else assisted in the alleged murder or in burying the body. Further investigation is underway.

Case Draws Comparison

The incident bears similarities to the 2025 “blue drum” murder case, in which merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput was allegedly killed, dismembered and sealed in a cement-filled blue drum by his wife, Muskaan Rajput, and her alleged lover, Sahil.
