Western Railway has launched Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 5.0 across its divisions, including Gujarat, allowing railway pensioners and family pensioners to submit their annual life certificates digitally until November 30, 2026.
The month-long campaign, which began on November 1, aims to simplify the submission process and spare elderly pensioners repeated visits to banks and railway offices.
The initiative is being conducted under the aegis of the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare, Government of India, to promote paperless services and encourage pensioners to use digital facilities.
93 Pensioners Generate Digital Life Certificates in Ahmedabad
As part of the campaign, the Accounts Department of Western Railway's Ahmedabad Division organised special camps at three bank branches on November 2.
The camps were held at Bank of Baroda in Sabarmati, State Bank of India at Kabir Chowk and Bank of Baroda in Chandkheda. Digital Life Certificates were generated on the spot for 93 railway pensioners and family pensioners.
Officials also guided pensioners through the certificate generation process and explained how they could complete the procedure independently.
Pensioners Can Generate Certificates Using Smartphones
During the camps, pensioners were given practical guidance on generating Digital Life Certificates from home using smartphones and digital platforms.
The facility is expected to benefit elderly and physically challenged pensioners who may find it difficult to travel to bank branches or railway offices for annual verification.
Campaign Covers More Than 2,000 Cities
Digital Life Certificate Campaign 5.0 is being conducted in more than 2,000 cities and towns across the country.
The initiative involves public sector banks, India Post Payments Bank, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and other participating organisations.
Western Railway has also arranged facilities at various locations across its divisions and stations, including those in Gujarat, to help pensioners access the service.
Railway pensioners and family pensioners can take advantage of the campaign until November 30, 2026, and complete their annual life certificate submission through digital facilities.
