UP Firecracker Factory Blast: At Least 7 Dead, Over 25 Critically Injured in Kaushambi

At least seven people have reportedly died and several others were injured after a massive explosion at a firecracker godown in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi on Monday morning. The injured were taken to the trauma centre at SRN Hospital in Prayagraj, while rescue teams continued searching through the debris for people who may still be trapped.

Blast Reported Around 11 Am

The explosion took place at around 11 am at a firecracker godown named Aditya, located near the border of the Pipri and Puramufti police station areas, along the Kaushambi-Prayagraj border.

The blast was reportedly so powerful that its sound could be heard nearly two kilometres away, triggering panic among residents in the surrounding area.

Fire department teams reached the spot and began efforts to bring the fire under control, while police and other investigative agencies started examining the circumstances surrounding the explosion.

More People Feared Trapped Under Debris

According to the information available, several people were injured in the blast and were shifted to SRN Hospital for treatment. A woman was reportedly admitted in serious condition.

Reports also suggested that more than 25 injured people were in critical condition. Several victims are believed to have suffered serious injuries after being trapped beneath the rubble following the explosion.

Rescue personnel are using JCB machines to clear the debris and search for people who may still be trapped.

Death Toll May Rise

The number of casualties could increase as rescue operations continue. Some reports have suggested that the death toll could cross 15, but the figures have not been officially confirmed by authorities.

Police and other agencies are investigating the cause of the explosion, while emergency teams remain engaged in rescue and firefighting operations.
