Union Defence Minister and BJP leader Rajnath Singh was admitted to Delhi All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) late on July 11 after he complained of back pain.

According to media reports, his condition is stable now.

Singh was admitted to the private ward of the hospital, under the care of Dr Amol Raheja, reported the media. AIIMS, in its official statement, said that his condition is stable now, and he may be discharged from the hospital soon.

Notably, Singh celebrated his 73rd birthday on July 10, a day before hospitalisation. Many politicians, including Prime Minister Modi, wished Singh on his birthday.

Rajnath Singh's political journey began with him joining the ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad), the student wing of Rashtriya Sevak Sangh (RSS). He was then a part of BJP's youth wing and went on to become Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister. At present, Rajnath Singh is a Lok Sabha member from Lucknow constituency.
