The University Grants Commission (UGC) announced that students can now enroll in two graduate-level degree or diploma programs at the same time, either through physical classrooms, online platforms, or a combination of both.

This marks an expansion of an earlier policy, which only permitted students to pursue one regular degree alongside another via distance learning, as per reports.

According to the guidelines, students can take two courses at the same time as long as their class schedules do not conflict. While eligibility for regular in-person programs depends on individual university criteria, students who have completed their 12th-grade education are eligible for distance learning courses.

Students have the freedom to choose institutions they may either take both degrees from one university or from two different universities.

The initiative is designed to empower students with broader learning opportunities and to help them build versatile skillsets for future academic and professional pursuits.
