Delhi Police have arrested two members of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar-Virender Charan gang, allegedly assigned to kill stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui.
As per reports, the gangsters were arrested after a gunfight on Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Road, and have been identified as Rahul, a resident of Panipat, and Sahil, a resident of Bhiwani.
Investigators said the two men were receiving instructions from foreign-based gangster Rohit Godara, who was coordinating with Goldy Brar and Virender Charan, to assassinate the comedian.
According to police, the gang members had allegedly carried out reconnaissance in Mumbai and Bengaluru to monitor Faruqui’s movements.
Officials stated that action was initiated after intelligence indicated the shooters’ presence near New Friends Colony.
A trap was subsequently laid on Kalindi Kunj-Pushta Road, where, around 3 am, a suspicious motorcycle was intercepted, they added.
The gangsters reportedly opened fire after the police asked them to stop.
Rahul, who received a gunshot wound in the retaliation, was reportedly wanted in connection with a triple murder that took place in Haryana’s Yamunanagar in December 2024.
