Two dead as massive landslide in Ramban halts traffic, leaves hundreds stranded

A massive landslide triggered by continuous rainfall severely impacted a section of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district, bringing vehicular traffic to a standstill.
Reports confirm that the highway was buried under a layer of rocks, mud, and debris, leaving hundreds of private vehicles and goods carriers stranded.
Meanwhile, two persons were confirmed dead and one person is believed to be trapped after a cloudburst struck the Seri Bagna area of Ramban district.
Sources stated that the cloudburst occurred in the early hours, triggering flash floods that caused significant damage in the region. Rescue teams rushed to the scene shortly after the incident was reported.
The deceased have been identified as Aqib Ahmad and Saqid Ahmad, both residents of Seri Bagna. The person reported to be trapped has been identified as Muni Ram.
Rescue operations are currently underway, and authorities are continuing efforts to clear the debris and restore normal traffic flow on the affected highway section.
