In Maharashtra’s Chandrapur, a tiger has attacked and killed four women, who were collecting tendu leaves in the Gujnewahi forest area of Sindhewahi taluka. This incident marks the seventh tiger attack in the area within two weeks, as per reports.

According to reports, the villagers have been entering the forest area for the seasonal tendu leaf collection. The women went into the forest early Friday morning to collect the leaves.

Around 8 am, a tiger reportedly emerged from dense bushes and suddenly attacked the women. Eyewitnesses reportedly said the animal struck swiftly and aggressively, leaving the victims with little chance to escape.

The deceased were identified as Kavdubai Dadaji Mohurle(45), Anubai Dadaji Mohurle (46), Sangeeta Santosh Chaudhary(36), and Sunita Kaushik Mohurle (33).

The deaths of four women reportedly triggered panic and outrage in the village, with police and forest officials rushing to the spot. Villagers blamed the forest department for failing to control rising tiger and leopard attacks despite repeated warnings, saying the tragedy could have been prevented.
