Palnadu Tragedy: Mother Allegedly Kills Two Sons Before Taking Her Own Life

A shocking case has been reported from Andhra Pradesh’s Palnadu district, where a 24-year-old woman allegedly poisoned her two young sons before dying by suicide. Police believe a family dispute may have led to the incident.

Bodies Found At Home

The incident was reported from Vittamrajupalli village in Vinukonda mandal. The deceased woman has been identified as Nakka Bharati (24), while her sons were Tejesh Reddy (6) and Hemanatha Nagi Reddy (4).

Police said Bharati allegedly served food mixed with poison to her sons on Monday night before hanging herself at her home.

The deaths were discovered on Tuesday morning after villagers informed the police. Officers reached the spot, shifted the bodies for postmortem examination and registered a case.

Family Dispute Suspected

Police said a family dispute is believed to have led to the incident.

Bharati’s husband, Sunil Reddy, works as a driver of a milk van. According to neighbours, he had allegedly developed harmful habits and was not taking proper care of the family, leading to frequent arguments between the couple.

Police are continuing the probe to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Similar Incidents

Police said similar cases linked to family disputes have been reported in the Telugu states in recent weeks.

On June 30, a woman in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district allegedly killed her two daughters before attempting suicide. Earlier, on June 13, a woman in Telangana’s Vikarabad district allegedly killed her two children before dying by suicide. Family disputes were suspected in both cases.
