Terror hideout busted in Poonch, 5 IEDs recovered amid LoC firing by Pakistan
Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district have uncovered a terrorist hideout, recovering five improvised explosive devices (IED), wireless sets, and other materials, including three blankets, during a joint operation on the later evening of April 4 with police.
The bust comes just days after the Pahalgam massacre that killed 28 people, heightening security concerns across the region.
The hideout, found in Surankot, triggered a search for suspected terrorists in the area.
Hours later, Pakistan reportedly resumed unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC) in multiple sectors, including Kupwara, Rajouri, Baramulla, and Mendhar – marking the 11th consecutive day of ceasefire violations.
Following the April 22 terror attack, India blamed Pakistan-based groups and took several diplomatic actions, including cancelling visas, asking Pakistani nationals to leave, and suspending the Indus Waters Treaty.
Tensions remain high as both countries maintain hardened positions.
