Tentative schedules for CBSE Class 10, 12 Board exams announced

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the detailed tentative schedule for the upcoming Class 10 and 12 Board examinations from February 17, 2026, to July 15, 2026.
CBSE schedule:
- Main examinations for Classes 10 and 12
- Examinations for Sports students — Class 12
- Second Board examinations — Class 10
- Supplementary examinations — Class 12
“In 2026, approximately 45 lakh candidates are expected to appear in 204 subjects across Classes 10 and 12 from India and 26 countries abroad. Alongside the conduct of examinations, several other activities such as practical, evaluation, and post-result processes will be undertaken to ensure timely declaration of results,” read the statement.
As per CBSE, to facilitate effective planning and execution of responsibilities by all stakeholders, CBSE has decided to release tentative date sheets for the following examinations, based on registration data of Class 9 and 11 for 2025:
Main examinations — Class 10
Main examinations — Class 12
Second Board examinations — Class 10
This initiative is expected to yield the following benefits:
Students can prepare structured study plans to enhance their performance.
Schools can align their academic and administrative activities, including deployment of teachers for examination and evaluation duties.
Teachers can plan their personal schedules, including vacations, with greater clarity.
In Gujarat, around 600 schools are affiliated with CBSE for Classes 10 and 12. Based on last year’s exam data, there are 573 schools with Class 10 (schools running up to Class 10) and 422 schools with Class 12 (schools running both Class 10 and 12). Last year, 42,500 students appeared in Class 10 exams, while 32,782 students appeared in Class 12 exams from Gujarat.
