Five winners of the National Awards to Teachers are from Gujarat

To recognise and celebrate the country’s teachers’ invaluable contributions, National Awards to Teachers (NAT2023) is going to be held today at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, where president Droupadi Murmu will confer national awards to 75 selected teachers, the ministry of education said.
The list of awardees had 50 teachers from the department of school education, 13 from the department of higher education, and 12 teachers from the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship.
The purpose of National Awards to Teachers is to celebrate the unique contribution of teachers in the country and to honour those, who through their commitment and dedication, have not only improved the quality of education, but also enriched the lives of their students.
Each award carries a certificate of merit, a cash award of ₹50,000 and a silver medal.

2. Dr Rita Nikeshchandra Fulwala of Sheth Shree PH Bachkaniwala Vidhyamandir, Surat
3. Mehta Zankhana Dilipbhai of Government Polytechnic, Ahmedabad
4. Indranath Sengupta of IIT, Gandhinagar
5. Dr Satya Ranjan Acharya of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Bhat, Gandhinagar
PM Modi meets the teachers to be conferred national awards
On the eve of Teachers’ Day, prime minister Narendra Modi on Sept 4 met the teachers who will be conferred national awards for their invaluable contributions to the education sector.
After meeting the award-winning teachers, PM Modi said, “Met our nation’s exemplary educators who have been honoured with the National Teachers’ Awards. Their dedication to shaping young minds and their unwavering commitment to excellence in education is very inspiring. In their classrooms, they are scripting a brighter future for India’s youth.”
Discussing the recent success of Chandrayaan-3, the prime minister underscored the importance of encouraging curiosity in students about science and technology as the 21st century is a technology-driven century.
He also talked about the importance of skilling the youth and making them future ready, an official at the ministry of education said.
The prime minister talked about taking pride in our local heritage and history and urged the teachers to inspire students to learn about their region's history and culture.
Highlighting the strength of diversity in the country, he requested the teachers to celebrate the culture and diversity of different parts of the country in their schools.
Talking about Mission LiFE, PM Modi discussed the importance of recycling as opposed to the use and throw culture.
Further, he advised teachers to constantly learn and upgrade their skills throughout their career.
India’s second President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birth anniversary is celebrated as Teachers’ Day on Sept 5 every year.
