Suspected bomb found near railway tracks in Bengal’s Birbhum, train movement partially halted

A suspected bomb was reported on railway tracks approximately 1.5 kilometres from Sainthia railway station in Birbhum district in Bengal on Wednesday night, as per multiple reports. Personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) rushed to the spot immediately.
Train operations on one of the lines were suspended as a precautionary measure. Further investigation is currently underway. More details are awaited.
Repeated bomb threats in Bengal
Meanwhile, several courts in West Bengal received fresh bomb threats on Wednesday, just a day after similar warnings were sent via email.
According to police sources, threat emails were sent to judges of various district courts. The scare first emerged at the Asansol District and Sessions Court after a threatening email was sent to the West Burdwan District Judge.
Sources said the email stated, “A bomb has been placed in the court. It will explode after some time.”
Asansol-Durgapur Deputy Commissioner of Police Dhruba Das rushed to the court premises following the alert.
Similar threat messages were also reported at the Suri District Court in Birbhum district.
Authorities are investigating the matter.
