Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s Wife Gets Death Threat On Instagram; Rajasthan Police Launch Probe

Rajasthan Police have launched an investigation after Sheela Shekhawat, wife of slain Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, allegedly received a death threat through an Instagram account linked to her daughter, Urvashi Shekhawat.

The message, reportedly sent on August 16, allegedly threatened to kill Sheela using weapons including AK-47 and AK-56 rifles and also warned that the security personnel assigned to protect her could be targeted.

Threat Sent To Daughter’s Instagram Account

According to Sheela’s complaint, the threatening message was sent to her daughter’s Instagram account by a person identifying himself as Abhishek Singh Rajput.

Sheela has asked police to establish the identity of the sender and take legal action. She also said repeated threats had created fear and mental stress for members of her family.

She alleged that the family had faced similar threats in the past and requested immediate steps to ensure their safety.

Case Registered Under BNS, IT Act

Based on Sheela’s written complaint, Gogamedi police have registered a case under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act.

Station House Officer Jaiprakash is conducting the investigation.

Police are examining the alleged Instagram account, the threatening messages and other digital evidence to establish who sent the message.

Officials said the authenticity of the threat, as well as the identity and motive of the alleged sender, will be determined during the investigation.

Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi Was Shot Dead In 2023

Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was shot dead at his Jaipur residence on December 5, 2023.

According to police records, armed attackers entered his home and opened fire, killing Gogamedi and another person. The incident sparked protests and demonstrations across several parts of Rajasthan.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang-linked operatives Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar had claimed responsibility for the killing.

Sheela has now told police that individuals with criminal backgrounds may hold a grudge against the family because of her late husband’s social and political activities.

The latest threat case remains under investigation, with police focusing on the digital trail left by the alleged sender.
