Stampede at ‘Shiv Mahapuran Katha’ in Meerut leaves several women injured
In an event in Meerut by Pandit Pradeep Mishra, ‘Shiv Mahapuran Katha’, chaos broke out amidst the crowd, creating a stampede situation, as per reports.
Many women in the crowd fell and sustained minor injuries, suggested the reports.
The incident happened before beginning of the event, which was in its sixth day on Friday. A large crowd had gathered around 1 pm when the stampede injured a number of women and elderly.
As per reports, local police forces were already deployed at the site. After the chaos, additional police teams from other stations were called in. As of now, four women were injured and were transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Previously, in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore, during a Rudraksha Mahotsav organised by Mishra, a stampede occurred due to a large crowd, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to over two thousand people.
