After facing a gruesome act of gangrape in Jharkhand, the Spanish traveller has decided to continue her world tour expedition and has left the country for her next destination, Nepal.
She stated that she had recovered from the shock of this incident.
On encountering such a deed while in Jharkhand’s Dumka, the woman stated, “People of India are kind. I don’t blame them; instead, I blame the criminals.”
She added that she received loads of love in India and travelled 20,000 km on a bike. Mishaps and incidents are a part of life, but they should not stop our journeys, she mentioned.
As the accused were nabbed at the earliest, she also thanked the police department before leaving India.
She said that she has been travelling throughout the world for the last six years. She has established that Indians are very good, and she doesn’t want to malign them.
“Many people have helped me on this journey. My complaint is only against criminals,” she remarked.
The police also assured that all the accused have been sent to jail and will face severe punishment for their deeds.
Her journey with her husband was further escorted from Bihar to Nepal under security.
Gangrape on Spanish woman
The woman was gangraped in the Hansdiha police station area of Dumka in Jharkhand late on the night of Mar 1.
Sources say that the woman had come on an India tour with her husband. On the night of Mar 1, the couple left for Bhagalpur via Dumka on a bike. At around 12 a.m., they stopped at a place called Kunji-Kurumahat before Hansdiha market.
Meanwhile, eight to ten people arrived and gang-raped the woman. There is information that the husband and wife were also beaten up.
The woman was admitted to a hospital late in the night and was also attended by Dumka SP Pitambar Singh Kherwar. Three people are reported to have been detained for questioning.
