Small plane crash-lands in Odisha's Rourkela, six injured
At least six people sustained minor injuries when a small aircraft operated by private airline IndiaOne Air made a crash landing approximately 10 km before Rourkela Airport on Saturday.
The flight, a regular service between Bhubaneswar and Rourkela, carried four passengers and two crew members, including the pilots.
Rescue teams rushed to the site immediately, and all six occupants were swiftly shifted to JP Hospital in Rourkela for treatment.
Currently, all six are admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Officials report that five patients are stable and out of danger, while one remains under close observation.
The Commerce and Transport Department, alongside the Directorate of Civil Aviation, Odisha, is actively monitoring the situation.
Senior officials are coordinating with hospital authorities to guarantee proper medical care and provide timely updates.
Odisha's Commerce and Transport Minister confirmed that the state government has informed the Director General of Civil Aviation.
The Director of Biju Patnaik International Airport, Prasanna Pradhan, added that an investigation team will soon visit the accident site.
Airport sources described the incident as involving a routine flight operated by the private carrier, with all occupants now confirmed safe despite their injuries.
