Six Children Drown In Floodwater During Karma-Dharma Puja In Bihar’s Bhagalpur

At least six children, reportedly aged 12, drowned while bathing in floodwater in Bihar’s Bhagalpur during Karma-Dharma Puja. The incident took place in the Taraita Narayanpur Wahiyar area, leaving families and residents of Vishnu Tola in shock.

The children were residents of Ward No. 27 under Sultanganj Nagar Parishad. According to the available information, they had gone to Narayanpur Diara for the puja and entered the floodwater to bathe. They reportedly moved into a deeper stretch and began drowning.

Children Went Into Floodwater To Bathe

The children were bathing in the flood-affected area when they went into deeper water and could not return to safety.

After learning about the incident, local residents rushed to the spot and began searching for them. Following considerable efforts, all six children were pulled out of the water, but they could not be saved.

The area has been affected by flooding, with deep water posing a danger to people entering the affected stretches.

Six Children Identified

The deceased have been identified as Pooja, Jyoti, Minki, Rahul, Ayush and Vikas. All six were residents of Vishnu Tola in Ward No. 27 of Sultanganj Nagar Parishad.

News of the deaths led to grief among the families and residents of the area, with relatives devastated by the loss of six children in the same incident.

Locals Raise Safety Concerns

Following the incident, local residents raised concerns over children entering flood-affected and waterlogged areas.
