Shinde stays back as Fadnavis, Pawar head to Delhi for Maha cabinet portfolios
Eknath Shinde stayed back in Mumbai ahead of the meeting with the Central BJP leaders in Delhi. Even after the oath ceremony, where Eknath Shinde consented to serve as Deputy CM alongside Ajit Pawar, with Devendra Fadnavis as CM of Maharashtra, reportedly over his discontent.
There are still some disputes over certain departments, and to resolve these issues, CM Devendra Fadnavis has left for a two-day visit to Delhi on Wednesday, accompanied by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.
Fadnavis, Pawar, and Shinde were supposed to meet Union Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. Shinde was expected to attend the meeting, but he chose not to go.
According to reports, the Deputy CMs and CM have agreed to allocate 22 berths to BJP, 11 to Shiv Sena, and 10 to NCP. However, the number of berths could still change.
According to reports, the discontentment of Shinde stems from non fulfilment of his demands. The deputy CM had expected the departments of Revenue, Public Works, Housing, and Energy to fall in his kitty, but he was reportedly offered urban development.
One of his close aides revealed that he was disheartened over not receiving certain positions he expected to be offered, as per reports.
