Salim Dola, an alleged drug kingpin and associate of fugitive terrorist Dawood Ibrahim has been reportedly arrested in Turkey’s Istanbul. He reportedly was caught by Turkish security authorities.

India’s Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) has reportedly issued a Red Corner Notice of Dola to the Interpol over the cases filed by Mumbai Police. Following this, he is reportedly detained by the Turkish authorities in Istanbul.

Salim Dola, allegedly involved in a transnational synthetic drug trafficking network spanning several using multiple clandestine laboratories and factories spread across India.

Last year, Salim’s son, Taher Dola was detained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in an operation involving local authorities and Interpol who successfully extradited to India in June 2025. Similarly, months after Salim’s son's detention, his key associate Salim Mohammed Sohail Shaikh was also reportedly arrested from Dubai then Mumbai Anti-Narcotics Cell detained him in connection with multiple cases.

Salim and his aides reportedly have multiple cases of drug smuggling, manufacturing, and other offences registered against them in India. There are also money-laundering cases being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

It would be difficult for India to extradite Salim from Turkey as it has no formal extradition treaty. So, he is likely to be brought to India through the UAE.
