Rewa Bus-Bulker Collision: 12 Feared Dead, Around 20 Injured in Madhya Pradesh

At least 12 people are feared dead and around 20 injured after a passenger bus collided head-on with a bulker truck on NH-39 in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh.

Fatal Collision Near Badbar Stand

The accident took place near Badbar Stand in Rewa district, where a passenger bus travelling from Sidhi towards Rewa collided with a bulker truck coming from the opposite direction.

The impact was severe, leaving the bus badly damaged. The vehicle reportedly veered off the road and fell into a deep water-filled pit beside the highway.

Rescue Teams Rush to Spot

Several passengers were reportedly trapped inside the mangled bus after the collision. Local residents alerted the police, following which police personnel and rescue teams reached the site.

Rescue workers are using cranes to pull passengers from the wreckage. Injured passengers are being transported to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa by ambulances and other vehicles.

Around 20 passengers are reported to have suffered serious injuries.

Death Toll Yet to Be Officially Confirmed

Initial reports have put the number of deaths at around 12, although an official confirmation of the toll was awaited at the time of reporting.

Police and administrative officials have been deployed at the accident site, while rescue operations continue with the help of local residents.

The cause of the head-on collision is yet to be established. Police are expected to investigate the circumstances leading to the crash.
