Retired army veteran donates ₹4 cr property to temple after daughters neglect him

An elderly man, reportedly a retired Indian Army personnel, dumped his property documents in a temple’s donation box in Tamil Nadu after being neglected by his daughters.
According to reports, S Vijayan, the veteran, donated ₹4 crore (₹3 crore property and another ₹1 crore) to a temple in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvannamalai district after he was disrespected by the family.
The temple administration found the ‘rare’ donation, which was 10 cents of land and a single-storey house near the temple.
According to The Hindu, the officials also said that it’s a first-of-its-kind incident.
Vijayan also promised to register his properties in the temple’s name legally after talking to the officials.
“won’t take my decision back, my children insulted me even for my daily needs,” the veteran was quoted as saying by the daily.
Vijayan has been in friction for some time with his family after a fallout with his wife a decade ago, as per reports. Over the years, he received no support from his family, and in recent months, his daughters had allegedly been urging him to hand over his properties to them.
