'Rename LDA Lucknow Destruction Authority': Akhilesh Hits Back at Yogi Government Over JPNIC Controversy

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has again questioned the Uttar Pradesh government over the Jay Prakash Narayan International Centre (JPNIC) in Lucknow. He reportedly asked why Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and government departments were giving repeated explanations about the centre. Akhilesh also questioned the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) over its report on the project.

Akhilesh reportedly said people were asking why the government was trying so hard to explain its decision on JPNIC. He said this was creating doubts among the public. He also asked LDA officials how much commission they received for preparing the report that said running JPNIC under the government could lead to a loss.

Why Would A Businessman Take A Loss?

Akhilesh questioned the logic behind the report and asked whether any businessman would take a loss while also paying commissions. He criticised the LDA and sarcastically suggested that its name should be changed to “Lucknow Destruction Authority”. He alleged that the BJP government and its officials were focused on making money.

Akhilesh Accuses BJP Government

Akhilesh had earlier accused the BJP government of trying to fill its own pockets through its decisions. He claimed that the public was facing corruption and other problems in the state. His latest comments are part of the continuing political dispute between the Samajwadi Party and the BJP over JPNIC.

Yogi Hits Back At Akhilesh

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reportedly defended the government's position and attacked the previous Samajwadi Party government over JPNIC. He called the centre a symbol of corruption under the SP government. Yogi said the project was originally estimated to cost around ₹200 crore, but ₹864 crore was spent and it still remained incomplete. The dispute over the future and management of JPNIC continues between the BJP government and Akhilesh Yadav.
