Ram Rahim again gets 15th parole, making him out of jail for 405 days in 8 years

On Saturday, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim got 40-day parole from the Rohtak police administration. This is his 15th parole in 8-year jail period.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim is serving a 20-year jail term for raping two of his disciples. On Saturday, he got his 15th parole from the Rohtak divisional commissioner for the 25th birth anniversary of Dera’s second spiritual leader Shah Satnam Singh. He is expected to remain in Dera’s ashram in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh during his 40-day parole.
His many paroles
Ram Rahim last stepped out of prison on a 40-day parole in August 2025. He was granted a 21-day furlough in April 2025 and a 30-day parole in January 2025, ahead of the February 5 Delhi assembly polls.
Similarly, he walked out of prison on a 20-day parole on October 1, 2024, days before the October 5 Haryana assembly polls.
In August 2024, Gurmeet Singh was granted a 21-day furlough. He was also permitted a three-week furlough from February 7, 2022, barely two weeks before the Punjab assembly polls. After he was convicted in a rape case in 2017, he got the 15th parole that made him 405 days out of jail in 8-year jail period.
Other cases where he was convicted
Rahim was also convicted of the murder of Ram Chandra Chhatrapati and sentenced to life imprisonment in January 2019. In 2021, he received another life imprisonment for the murder of Dera’s manager Ranjit Singh, but after three years of conviction, he was acquitted by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
