A few days after Rahul Gandhi hinted at unveiling a “hydrogen bomb” of revelations on alleged “vote chori,” the Congress has announced that the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha will address a press conference on Thursday.
"This is another milestone in setting up and demonstrating to the youth of this country how elections are being rigged. I am going to make a strong claim about EC Gyanesh Kumar," he said.
"I am going to show the people of India proof that is black and white and absolutely clear that the EC of India is protecting those who have destroyed Indian democracy. I am also going to show you the method by which votes are being added and deleted and how that's done," Gandhi added.
At a press conference, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi accused the ruling side of large-scale voter fraud, alleging that in Karnataka’s Aland constituency, 6,018 names had been deleted from the rolls. He said the malpractice came to light only by coincidence, when a booth-level officer realised that her own uncle’s name was among those removed.
Rahul Gandhi said, "Dalit, Adivasi, minority, OBC voters were being deleted, as per our information. The BLO Aland conincidentally caught this. The BLO's relative was deleted, and she began the process."
"She found that organised voter deletion was happening in Aland. 6,018 deletion were investigated. Online filings were done, numbers from other states were being used," he added.
According to Gandhi, numbers from other states deleted voters in Karnataka through a software, but owners of the numbers did not know this. Congress voters were targeted.
Rahul Gandhi said that someone created fake logins of a lady called Godabai. "They also deleted 12 voters, and attempted to delete—because this attempt was stopped. Godabai, of course, has no idea," said Gandhi.
"These were the cell phone numbers that were used to delete these people from voter list. These are not from Karnataka. These numbers are from different states. So, the questions that arise: Whose numbers are these, How were they operated, Where were they operated from? Who generated the OTPs to disturb the process?," asks Congress.
In another example, Gandhi claimed that a man named Suryakant deleted 12 voters in 14 minutes. He filled 12 deletion forms in 14 minutes. Babita Chaudhary is one of the votes that Suryakant is supposed to have deleted. However, both of them didn't know about it.
"Top 10 booths where Congress was strong, most people were deleted. In 2018, Congress won on eight booths. Out of them, over 6,000 voters have been deleted on six booths," claimed Gandhi.
CID's 18 letters in 18 months
