During the Voter Adhikar Yatra (Voter Rights Rally) in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi launched sharp attacks against the BJP and NDA over the alleged ‘vote theft’. He also alleged vote-rigging in Maharashtra.

Gandhi said, “We have provided evidence of the vote theft, yet the Election Commission has not taken any action. The BJP and the Election Commission together have committed vote theft.”

Displaying banners that read ‘vote theft means theft of rights’, ‘vote theft means theft of reservations’, ‘vote theft means theft of the youth’s future’, he strongly targeted the Modi government.

He further said, “The same forces who killed Mahatma Gandhi are now trying to kill the Constitution. But we will not let them succeed.” During the rally, he also led chants of “Vote thieves, step down from power.”

Challenging the BJP, Rahul Gandhi said, “In Madhavpura we showed you the Atom Bomb, and now we are preparing to detonate the Hydrogen Bomb. The truth about your vote theft will now be exposed to the entire nation.”

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also addressed the gathering, saying, “For 11 years, the Modi government has been dismantling ‘democracy in installments’. It adopts new methods of theft for this. First, it distributed the wealth of crores of poor people to a few close friends. It handed over profitable public sectors to them, then used their financial power to topple opposition governments.”

He further said that “The Supreme Court has also acknowledged that the opposition was right on the issue of SIR. We wanted a discussion in Parliament on the theft of Bihar’s votes. The entire opposition kept protesting, but they kept protecting the Election Commission and did not allow the discussion.”

“Bihar has always guided the nation with its wisdom, strength, and spirit in times of crisis,” he said.

Kharge criticised Modi for his constant foreign tours and said “Modi ji is still abroad today. He travels the world. But Manipur kept burning, and he didn’t go. He was nowhere to be seen during floods and disasters in Himachal, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, among other states.

Modi ji’s allies called Trump a ‘Sanatani’. Today, because of America, the livelihoods of crores of poor fishermen, farmers, and artisans are at risk.”
