Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday launched the ‘Satyagraha’ digital platform to bring together issue-based protests across India and help people seeking support for their causes.

Gandhi urged people to register their protests on the platform, saying it would create a map of movements involving Gen Z, students, farmers, Adivasis, Dalits and women.

He said protests over land, women’s rights, Dalit and OBC rights, education and examinations were taking place across the country, but many groups were fighting their battles alone.

“Across the country, people are fighting for their rights – and too often, fighting alone,” Gandhi said in a post on X.

Rahul Gandhi Invokes Mahatma Gandhi

Launching the platform a day after Mahatma Gandhi’s 157th birth anniversary, Gandhi invoked the freedom fighter’s emphasis on truth and collective action.

“Bapu taught us that truth is our greatest weapon. But an even greater weapon is standing together with the truth,” he said.

Gandhi asked people facing injustice to share their stories on the platform, saying their protests would be added to the Satyagraha map.

Gandhi Promises Support for Protesters

Gandhi said he would support people raising issues through Parliament, on the streets and through letters, wherever required.

“As the Leader of the Opposition, that is my responsibility,” he said.

In a video message accompanying the launch, Gandhi said the platform would help organise protests and bring different movements together.

He asked people to fill out the form on the Satyagraha website and enrol their movements so that his team could assess how it could support them.

“As the leader of the opposition, it's important for me to help people resist where truth is being crushed,” Gandhi said.
