Pune Customs officials have seized ₹3.47 crore (approx.) in US dollars hidden inside student notebooks at the Pune airport.

According to reports, $4,00,100 cash was discovered in the luggage of three students who were about to depart for Dubai. The students had unknowingly received the bags from their travel agent, Khushbu Agarwal, at the last moment before boarding their flight.

Alert officers from the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) detained Agarwal and questioned her under the Customs Act. Upon interrogation, she admitted ownership of the foreign currency.

Following her confession, a customs search team tracked down a forex dealer in Mumbai, leading to the arrest of Mohd Aamir, the supplier of the illegal foreign currency.

The investigation is ongoing, with officials probing the larger network behind this currency smuggling operation.
