PM office to be renamed ‘Sevatiirth’, all Raj Bhavans to be called ‘Lok Bhavan’

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) will now be known as Sevatiirth, as part of the government’s effort to present the institution as more citizen-centric and service-oriented. The decision aims to make the PMO more accessible and reflective of a governance model focused on duty, accountability, and public service.
The PMO will soon shift from South Block to a new complex named Sevatiirth, located in Executive Enclave-1. The new office will operate from sevatiirth-1, while sevatiirth-2 will house the Cabinet Secretariat and sevatiirth-3 will accommodate the National Security Advisor’s office. The relocation process has already begun.
This change is part of a larger renaming effort that began in 2016, when the prime minister’s residence was renamed from 7 Race Course Road to 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, and continued in 2022 with the renaming of Rajpath to Kartavya Path. The government says the new names represent a shift from symbols of power and hierarchy toward values of service and responsibility.
The Sevatiirth complex includes three modern buildings equipped with high-tech infrastructure designed to speed up decision-making and streamline government operations. A key meeting of the Cabinet Secretary, the Chief of Defence Staff and the heads of the three armed forces was recently held in sevatiirth-2 as part of the transition.
