PM Modi to visit Italy in first overseas trip after assuming office

The upcoming summit of the Group of Seven (G7) is scheduled to take place in Italy from June 13-15, which is set to be the first event that Modi will be attending after assuming office.
Last month, as he extended his greetings to Italy’s Prime Minister Georgia Meloni on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of Liberation Day, and had also thanked her for the invite to the G7 Summit Outreach Sessions to be held in Borgo Egnazia in the country’s Apulia region.
Apart from Modi, US President Joe Biden, Japanese PM Fumio Kishida, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, among other top leaders are slated to attend the event.
However, an official announcement regarding this event is yet to be made by the PM’s office.
