Pilgrimage Invitation Ends In Alleged Sexual Assault Of Woman At Amroha Farmhouse, 4 Personnel Including 2 Cops Arrested

A 23-year-old woman from Haryana’s Fatehabad was allegedly gangraped at a farmhouse in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district after being invited on a pilgrimage, police said. Two Uttar Pradesh Police personnel and two CRPF personnel have been arrested in connection with the case.

According to Amroha Superintendent of Police Lakhan Singh Yadav, the alleged incident took place in the Hasanpur area. The accused include a sub-inspector and a head constable posted at Hasanpur police station, along with a CRPF inspector and a head constable.

Woman Allegedly Invited To Visit Religious Places

According to the FIR, the woman was contacted on September 20 by a female acquaintance who asked her to meet CRPF Inspector Mohit, a resident of Saurang village in Muzaffarnagar, to visit religious places in Amroha.

The woman met Mohit in Sonipat, Haryana, on September 21. From there, they travelled to Meerut, where CRPF Head Constable Lalaram Yadav, a resident of Rajasthan’s Alwar, joined them.

The group later travelled to Hasanpur in Amroha.

Woman Taken To Farmhouse

According to the complaint, Mohit went to Hasanpur police station on September 22 to meet his acquaintance, Inspector Sanjay Tomar. Tomar, who was in plain clothes, allegedly met them at the police station gate before leaving with them in Mohit’s Brezza car for Jhulpuri farm.

The woman alleged that they took two rooms at the farmhouse. She said Mohit, Sanjay Tomar and Lalaram stayed in one room.

Later, Head Constable Pramod allegedly arrived with food as well as liquor and beer. The woman said the four men ate and drank together while she ate separately.

In the evening, Mohit and Lalaram allegedly took the woman to Hasanpur in a car and picked up Sub-Inspector Sanjay Tomar on the way.

Police said the three men then took her to a farmhouse on the Atrasi-Hasanpur road, where they rented two rooms.

Woman Allegedly Contacts Police

According to the FIR, the woman alleged that the three men entered her room and raped her one after another without her consent.

She said Pramod later entered the room, but she pushed him out and locked herself inside.

The woman then allegedly searched for the police on her mobile phone and contacted them.

She reached out to the police at around 6 am on Wednesday.

All Four Accused Arrested

Teams from the Hasanpur and Rajabpur police stations reached the location, took the woman to safety and arrested all four accused, according to the SP.

An FIR has been registered based on her complaint under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) relating to abduction or enticement and gangrape.

Police said all four accused have been arrested and remanded in judicial custody.

Action Against Police And CRPF Personnel

Departmental proceedings have been initiated against the local sub-inspector following his suspension, the SP said.

A report has also been sent to senior CRPF authorities recommending strict disciplinary action against the two CRPF personnel.
