Pakistan Navy assists crew of Indian vessel stranded in Arabian Sea

The Pakistan Navy has provided humanitarian assistance to the crew of an Indian offshore tug and supply vessel stranded in the Arabian Sea, according to a media report.
The operation was carried out with support from the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, as per local news reported on Monday, citing security sources.
Assistance was extended after the Maritime Rescue and Coordination Centre contacted Pakistani authorities and sought help for the vessel, identified as MV Gautam, which was travelling from Oman to India.
The crew, comprising six Indian nationals and one Indonesian, had reported a technical fault that left the vessel stranded at sea, the report said.
According to the sources, the Pakistan Navy provided emergency support, including food supplies, medical aid and technical assistance, while efforts to stabilise the vessel were ongoing.
The development comes a month after the Pakistan Navy rescued 18 crew members, including foreign nationals, from a merchant vessel following a distress call in the Arabian Sea.
