Obscene content repeatedly disrupts Delhi High Court Chief Justice's hearings

The virtual court proceedings before the Chief Justice’s bench of the Delhi High Court were repeatedly interrupted after obscene content was played during hearings conducted via video conferencing (VC), as per reports.
This incident reportedly caused the court administration to shut down the virtual hearing platform twice. As per reports, an unidentified individual had gotten access to the VC session and began screen-sharing explicit content while the bench was in the midst of hearing the matter. This interruption caused immediate concern, leading court officials to halt the session and disable the VC link.
The platform was restored briefly after the first disruption, but the situation escalated when the issue came up again. This led to raising serious questions about security protocols governing virtual court hearings, which have become a regular feature since the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per reports, the authorities are expected to review access controls and security measures for virtual hearings, including stricter authentication protocols and also limitations on screen-sharing permissions to prevent any recurrence of such incidents.
This is not the first time something like this has happened. In July 2025, virtual meeting before the Kolkata Bench was halted after an unidentified man entered the session and started screen-sharing obscene and inappropriate content. Thereafter, a formal cybercrime complaint was also filed.
