Northeast woman assaulted in Delhi after she objects to harassment in the park

A woman from Manipur was allegedly assaulted near Delhi's Saket court campus by a group of men after a woman objected to harassment on Sunday evening, as per reports.
A group of women from Manipur was taking a walk in the park near the Saket district court complex. When a group of men started making inappropriate comments directed to her.
When one of them objected to the comments , the situation escalated, and she was reportedly assaulted by a group of men. The injured woman was taken to the hospital for medical examination and treatment. Preliminary reports indicate that she will recover soon and has suffered minor injuries.
"A police team reached the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and contacted the victim. Teams are in constant touch with her, and further action will be taken based on her statement," the officer said.
Earlier this month , a video went viral from Delhi where three women from Arunachal Pradesh were racially abused and threatened due to their Northeast identity by the husband and wife living under their residence.
After that, police registered the FIR under sections Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita including the provision related to insulting the modesty of a woman, criminal intimidation and promoting enmity between groups. Now, both husband and wife were arrested by the Delhi police police and sent for 14 days' judicial custody.
